Flexible Remote Opportunity

Job Type: Volunteer
Time Commitment: Flexible hours, approximately 5-10 hours per week.
Location: Remote (anywhere with internet access).

Are you passionate about ensuring equal access to information for everyone? Ability Together, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting inclusivity and support for individuals with disabilities, is seeking a dedicated volunteer with experience in screen reader technology to help make our website fully accessible to all users.

Responsibilities​

  • Conduct comprehensive accessibility audits of our website using screen reader software.

  • Identify and document accessibility barriers, such as missing alt text, keyboard navigation issues, and inaccessible forms.

  • Collaborate with our web development team to implement accessibility improvements based on audit findings.

  • Provide guidance and recommendations for maintaining website accessibility standards in the long term.

Qulalifications​

  • Proficiency in using screen reader software, such as JAWS, NVDA, or VoiceOver.

  • Familiarity with web accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.1 guidelines.

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
