Travel is one of life’s greatest pleasures. It opens your mind, fills your stomach with new food, and gives you stories that will make your friends jealous for years. But if you are Deaf, hard of hearing, or a person with a disability, travel also requires a specific kind of tactical planning.
When we talk about the Americans with Disabilities Act, we often treat it like the holy grail of civil rights. And to be fair, in many ways, it is. The United States set a high bar in 1990 by codifying accessibility into law.
